Treno
-Treno, City of Nobles.
Eternal night?
-Interesting! Although it’s “City of Nobles,” it has long nights which attract many thieves, and there aren’t many nobles here anymore.
-hee! Steiner starts to scold Marcus for having turned this into a den of thieves, and for mentioning the possibility of stealing the Supersoft. Dagger is just done with him, and leaves while his back is turned. Marcus goes the other way.
-Poor Steiner. Always abandoned.
-There’s a coin fountain. Tried throwing 100 gil into the water, and “felt happier.” Yay?
-The Tetra Master cards in this town are a big step up.
-ATE time.
---
Treno Tradition
-Dagger walking alone. Two people go running past. Pickpockets?
-AH CRAP they were a distraction. As she was watching them, someone walked up to Dagger quickly and stole 1,000 gil. An exclamation point was on my screen for a half a second, so I’ll bet if I were quicker on the draw I would’ve caught the pickpocket in the act.
---
Confusion
-More Dagger. Not happy with the city.
-lol. She’s looking for the noble with Supersoft, walks one way, hears some dude burping up a storm, and is like “NOPE lemme check a different way.” XD
-Sees an old man, and his hearing is terrible. She asks about Supersoft, he thinks she’s asking about his wife or something.
Poor frustrated Dagger.

Steiner in Treno
-Continuing to play Triple Triad and hit 100 cards. The cap. Discarded some crap.
-Found another key item: Taurus. “Taurus had an idea: he would give Virgo a gift. Through the forest and over the mountain, he found a star.”
-Found a tavern. There’s a wanted sign here. Looks like a person with red shocks of hair. Wanted for 10,000 gil reward.
-A bearded man with glasses (Baku?) and a different guy went down the stairs, but the waitress here won’t let me pass.
-Major class divide in this city.
---
Unexpected Visitor
-This place was reminding me of Zozo and Jidoor from FFVI combined into one, and the auction house only cements that.
-OH SHIT IT’S KUJA UP TOP

Steiner in Treno
-Nooo!! A moogle flew out of a tower. I went onto a different screen briefly and when I came back the moogle was gone.
-There’s a monster in this weapons shop that a noble keeps to beat up people who challenge it.
-Bought a crapload of weapons and armor.
-Let’s try fighting the monster.
-lol. It wiped me out. Griffon.
-Found the moogle. Being chased around by a pupper. Mogrich.
-Mogrich has a letter from Stiltzkin. Stiltzkin describes meeting the party, the trouble in Burmecia, and that he’ll follow the party towards the sandstorm.
-??THERE’S A CARD STADIUM??
-Aw. This is actually kind of heartbreaking. A father and son are outside the stadium. The son complains that his mom hates it when his dad gambles. The kid hates his father’s gambling too.
I played against the dad… and he sucked. Urk. I felt bad beating him.
-Something about the card stadium is different.
-There’s a “collector’s level” in Tetra Master. You get different titles as your level goes up.
STEINER: “What are the symbols on the cards?”
CARD USHER: “It’s a big secret! Figure it out for yourself.”
COLDRUN: “FUCK OFF AND TELL ME THE RULES.”
Urrrrk. I thought I was really close to learning this. I don’t like it. How do these people play when the RULES are a secret? I’d understand if there were secret cards and their holders/locations were secret, but the fundamental rules of the game? Boo.
-Let’s see what this stadium is about.
-Ok, played a bunch in there and it seems like it’s just a place to play Tetra Master against random levels and card collections. Not a specific tournament or deeper event – not yet at least.
-Found Café Carta, a members-only club.
-A guard is looking for… someone?
-There’s a huge tower that a girl says is closed, and suspects something is “fishy.”

Treno – Bishop’s House
-Hee! Steiner ran into a four-armed man who accidentally spilled the beans that HE’S the one who pick-pocketed the woman Steiner described.
Steiner gave him a death glare, the thief got scared, and threw at Steiner the Power Belt that he spent the money on.
-The belt is SWEET. Has Fira, Counter, and MP Attack.
-Bishop rents the nearby tower out to researchers.
-Bought a Cacushka and Gold Choker at the synthesist here.
-A Reflect Ring is being auctioned tonight.
-A man who sits in the front row is the main bidder. Kuja probably.

Steiner in Treno
-Queen Stella lives here. She collects Stellazio – AHA! That’s what the zodiac coins are for.
-Stella is a bird lady. I gave her one of my coins, it went into her various cages around her home, and I’ll get a reward from her servant. Hope it’s a good one!
-1,000 gil. Meh. Taurus nets me Phoenix Pinion. Aries nets me 2,000 gil. So progressively better.

Auction House
-Steiner found the princess. Marcus was probably the guy who went into the tavern with Baku, so maybe we’ll see him later.
-Dagger’s really annoyed with Steiner. This has been a long time coming. He keeps complaining and trying to block her or scold those around her, and she’s tired of it.
-She recognizes the guy up there. Kuja.
-Went back into the auction house to try an auction. Just once. It’ll probably be something I deal with more later if I ever have a ton of cash.
-Bought a Mini-Cid for 3,500 gil. Whee!
-…jesus. I thought it’d be a fun toy or something. Here’s the description: “May this flesh turn into clay, may this blood turn into water. God of chaos, trap this soul forever in this form.”
WTF DID I BUY.
-One more item. I have some gil. Why not.
-Spent 9,000 gil on Doga’s Artifact: “We seek magic as a way of life. We create dreams after life.”
-Are all the auction items this creepy and foreboding?

Next time: Continuing in Treno.
