Junon – Central Tunnel, Level 6
-More Genesis clones. Zack: “You’re really starting to annoy me.”
-Zack opens a door, continues chasing Hollander… WHO SUMMONS A TANK TO HELP HIM?
-Before I hit a Genesis limit break, I get some neat images of Genesis being Genesis.
Pointing at something with a black wing fully extended, things like that.
-LOLOL – I just heard Zack’s reply to the Genesis limit break in his head. As he starts to float for Apocalypse, and hears Genesis’s voice say, “Show me the true power of SOLDIER!” Zack replies: “Mind your own business!”
Not only is this awesome because sassy Zack is one of the best Zacks, but also because it shows that not every mental influence is positive or welcome. Genesis impacted Zack, and he’s drawing on it with this limit break, but he’s not happy about being reminded of everything around Genesis exactly.
-Huh. Just noticed the tank is called “General’s Tank.” Who’s inside?
-…lol. Mentally, my first guess was General Leo, but wrong game.
-Nobody was inside. Just a random mech.
-Afterwards, Tseng and a couple of Thirds (SOLDIER Third Class) come in, having cleaned up the rest of the clones around the city. They remain to help with the evacuation and the safety fo the residents while Zack chases Hollander.
-Oh no! I talk to a Third, who says one of the other Thirds here got sick on the helicopter ride over. I think I might have a guess who that other Third is. Cloud’s really not cut out for this, is he?
-Got mail from Luxiere.
I really like seeing how much Zack has influenced others and how his role has changed from the start of the game.
-Zack finds the nauseous Cloud and is pretty supportive. Offers to take him out to eat next time they get a spare moment. (Hint: do not discuss food with someone who’s nauseous.)
-Cissnei was spotted heading to the 8th level.

Defense of the Junon Perimeter’
-Hollander’s heading towards the airbase.
-He’s sending mechs at the city to distract us from capturing him.
-….
-Is this about to be another RTS-style mini-game? I really hope not.
-Ok, phew. It’s more standard than that.
-The road acts like a closed hallway. Mechs are swarming with weird pathing to try to get to the other side. I have to play goalie and intercept them on the way. When I intercept, it starts a fight.
-Success. Got 30 down.
-One of the small things I enjoy about this game is being able to see a spot and remember what happened (or, more precisely, will happen) in FFVII. Like this balcony spot in Junon where I remember seeing Rufus give a speech.

Junon Airport
-I like how fed-up Zack is with all the crap that Hollander keeps throwing his way.
-FINALLY caught up with him. Backed him to the ledge.
-AND THEN THE BASTARD JUMPED.
”Let go your earthly tether. Enter the void. Empty, and become wind.”
And was caught by flying clones. GRRRR.
-Sephiroth and the Turks show up. Sephiroth sasses Zack: “Mission failed. This goes on your permanent record.”
At least, I think it’s sass. Kind of hard to tell with Sephiroth.
-They discuss the weirdness of the whole clone thing.
“Did Genesis really die?” Zack flashes back to his “death,” and remembers that Genesis just kind of fell off the edge. You should always wait to watch the sprite blink out of existence!
-Clones were also recently spotted in the slums. Zack starts to freak out quietly. Sephiroth notices, smiles (I guess he knows about Aerith), and grants Zack permission to head there.
-Strange interaction at the end here. Zack’s about to leave, turns around, and keeps hesitating about something. Sephiroth: “We’ll meet again soon.” Did Zack just not want to leave Sephiroth’s company for the moment, or was he about to say something?
-The camera switches. It’s Genesis.
This happy asshole is back, reciting LOVELESS. He’s just chilling out on the Junon canon. I assume he’s not a clone.
-Title screen. Beach Cissnei.

Next time: Likely a break from the main story action. Will try to clear out some missions.
