Blizzard - Weeks 5/6: The Noble Garrosh

A bit of Hearthstone and Diablo III, but mostly WoW this week through the wonderful Stonetalon questline.

Hearthstone

Not much here.  I enjoy listening to Hearthstone podcasts and watching the early Blizzcon matches, but haven't played much.  Got to rank 20 for the Hallow's End card back.

---

Diablo III

Hit level 50 and finished Act 3.

---

World of Warcraft

Level 37.  Finished up Ashenvale and Stonetalon Mountains, and the Stonetalon questline was especially great.

The Horde leader, Garrosh Hellscream, was the main villain of the "Mists of Pandaria" expansion.  A savage, brutal, and ultimately genocidal war criminal, but this questline took place earlier, before he became fully corrupted.

The main zone story focused on a power-mad general developing a bomb to attack a peaceful druid training area under the pretext that it housed a weapon of mass destruction.  The general knew this wasn't the case - he lied and murdered to disguise this pretext - but went ahead with it anyway.  He dropped a bomb on the training ground killing countless innocents.

Then Garrosh arrived.

He berated the general for pointless slaughter, telling him he lost his honor and brought shame on the Horde.  He raged that no matter how dire the battle, honor should not be forsaken - something he'd go onto forget, but for now it is in his ethical core.  And all this is to protect tauren and night elf civilians.  (Garrosh later created the "True Horde," which only included orcs and goblins.)

Oh, and then he tossed the general off a bridge.

I would've loved to see this kind of Garrosh as warchief beyond this expansion, but c'est la vie.

Also got my rare battle pets up to level 7.  Onto Desolace next time.
