Summary: My spoiler-free plan for going through FFXV.
---
The Core Guide
I know before starting that FFXV has a ton of tie-ins outside the main game. My friend Carrie gave me a spoiler-free guide to approach these. THANK YOU CARRIE!
1. Start playing FFXV
2. When you reach Chapter 7, play the Gladiolus DLC
3. Continue to play the main FFXV story until you are prompted with the 'are you ready to leave' type text by an NPC, to leave the starting area. DO NOT LEAVE, Save and stop playing the story (feel free to finish side quests, level up)
4. Watch the movie, FFXV: Kingsglaive, this will minor spoil the events post leaving the area, however it will put the following gameplay into better context. In addition there is a minor spoiler containing a character reveal that has not happened in game at this point.
Reason: Kingsglaive (the movie) spoils the opening few hours of the video game. It also contains important context for understanding the story/character moments past this point in the game.
5. Continue to play the game and go to the next area, watch the cutscenes up until you are free to save.
6. Watch the anime series, Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV
Reason: Episode 1 of Brotherhood (the series) mentions in passing the result of the events in Kingsglaive, with another episode mentioning the results of the in-game cutscenes following leaving the initial area.
The series is comprised primarily of flashbacks that take place in the minds of the game characters during events after step 5 above. Watching them experiencing the correct portion of the game gives you much better context to their importance relating to their use as character backstory.
7. Continue the game.
8. When you reach Chapter 12, play the Prompto DLC
9. Finish the game
10. Play the Ignis DLC
---
Addendums from Others’ Suggestions
Noybusiness: Episode Ardyn Prologue (anime), Episode Ardyn (DLC), Parting Ways (*novella), Platinum Demo (demo).
marimo0marimo: A King’s Tale (short game)
I’ll do these after. It sounds like the demo can be done before the game, but I’d rather just dive into the game to start.
If anyone has a (spoiler-free please) suggestion thing to add on, let me know!

Next time: Starting the game.
