Keeper’s Dome
-Quick jaunt through the sewers to the dome on the continent to the south.
-By the way, a question just hit me: where’s Lavos now? In 1,999 her woke up and destroyed the world with fire. What did he do afterwards? Did he just expend himself and die? Fly back to his home planet? Is he still walking around wreaking havoc in parts of the world we haven’t seen yet? (This last option seems the least likely.)
-The Nu is here, sleeping.
-The Nu is a robot? Huh. Says something about the professor writing his own eulogy? Oh, no, that the professor in writing the Nu’s programming was composing his own eulogy. Don’t quite understand that. Maybe Balthasar is now dead and something about the Nu involves his last wishes.
-The chamber beyond a sealed door has a few different sparkly lights. Each has a message.
-Balthasar was the Guru of Reason in Zeal. Some kind of catastrophe sent him into this era. He writes of Lavos, saying that Lavos exists in this time (where?) as well as in most other eras. Burrowed beneath the planet early on as we saw, and drew strength and energy from the planet.
-Lavos lives atop Death Peak. Continues to replicate (ew).
-Balthasar has spent his time here researching Lavos, making an “ultimate creation.” A weapon? The Nu?
-No. He writes that the Wings of Time are his best invention.
-I’m already wondering what we might have to do with Death Peak. Will it be as simple as ascending the peak and killing Lavos here? That wouldn’t seem like it’d help things much, compared to fighting him in the past. But Death Peak is clearly a thing, so maybe we go talk to Lavos or something.
-HAHA IT’S A TIME SHIP HELL YES
-OH SHIT NOW I GET THE WHOLE EULOGY THING
-BELTHASAR PROGRAMMED HIS CONSCIOUSNESS INTO THE ROBOT NU SO THAT HE COULD LIVE ON PAST HIS BODY’S EXPIRATION
THIS IS SOME DOLLHOUSE BULLSHIT RIGHT HERE
-Y button for time gauge, L&R to pick an era. This ship may let me pass through time without
-Wait wait wait, just thought of a thing. What if the old man at the end of time is another of the gurus from Zeal?
-Anyway. This ship may let me pass through time without having to stop at the End of Time.
-hahahahahah we get to name the frigging ship this is spectacular.
Epoch.
Going to keep its original name.
-NuThasar finished off his instructions for us with “End of professor’s message.” This indicates to me that it was more a complex recording than a direct transplant of Balthasar’s consciousness/soul.
-Didn’t take off just yet in the Epoch. Tried heading to Death Peak to see if anything new happened. It didn’t. Well, sort of – I found a Power Tab before I got blown off the mountain. That’s new.
-This is a really cool interface for the Epoch.
It’s like the “C” in the Chrono Trigger logo.

End of Time
-Flew through time, to End of Time first. Now I know what those stairs were for! I want to talk to the Old Man.
-The Old Man doesn’t tell us too much, but he clearly knew Balthasar on a personal level.
Designates himself our guide. My bet is that he’s Gaspar.
-The party I take back will be… Hm… Robo and Lucca. No, Lucca and Frog. I don’t have their dual tech yet.
-Talked to Robo. No story reason. I just wanted to hear his theme song again. I love that about End of Time.

12,000 BC - Dark Ages, Algetty
-The Skyway is sealed. Let’s try the other way, the way that was blocked off before.
-Yes! The ladder in the cave that was blocked before is open to climb now.
-Haggard-looking dudes living in here. “The Earthbound ones.” This is their town, Algetty.
Neat layout.
-The fact that they call themselves earthbound leads me to believe they know a lot about Zeal. Hell, maybe they’re prisoners or exiles from Zeal.
-Yup. Zeal exiled them because they don’t have magic. Fucking Zeal. This seems likely to be the start of the Magus/Guardia schism. Crono’s probably descended from the Earthbound while the likes of Magus and Ozzie and Flea are descended from Zeal. Or maybe not, since Crono and Lucca can still use magic. Hm.
-Many Earthbound were taken to build the Ocean Palace and never seen again.
-Phenomenal equipment available here! A bit too expensive for me. Time to sell some stuff.
-I’m torn on whether to use the Flash Blade for Frog over Masamune. Better attack, but I wouldn’t be able to use the Hero Medal. Hm.
For now, I’ll go with the Flash Blade and replace the Hero Medal with a Gold Earring for much better survivability.
-The Guru of Life (Gaspar?) said that the Janus’s powers are even stronger than Schala’s, and he’s trying to “get to Lavos.” To fight him? To draw power from him? Hopefully to fight him. Janus seemed good.
- Nm, the Guru of Life is Melchior. They said the Guru of Life is locked up on the Mountain of Woe.
-Schala and the three Gurus treat the Earthbound as equals, with respect.
Not many others do. Frigging bigoted Zealots.
-There’s a monster out there called “The Beast.”
-We can go through the Beast’s Nest to reach the Mountain of Woe and there find Melchior, Guru of Life.

Next time: Probably a fun, goofy, and relaxing session with “The Beast” and “The Mountain of Woe.”
