Summary: We get some treasure and then head to Albrook. Reunion with Celes and Shadow. The joint Returner-Imperial force sails east.
Imperial Observation Post
-I head east to pick up my reward before boarding the ship.
-I’m pretty annoyed at only being able to use my two weakest characters in this part are Locke and Terra.
-SO MUCH TREASURE WOO HOO
-Lol – a “Flametongue” sword was in the stove.
---
Albrook
-So the Empire still will occupy Albrook, Maranda and Tzen. I wonder how those people feel.
-Aw!! They’re taking power back.
Not sure on how, but the Imperial soldiers definitely seem to be standing down.
-WAIT REALLY?
YES!!
-So… is Celes an Imperial general again now that they’re (at least for the moment) peaceful and now that Kefka’s in jail?
-Shadow is comforting as always.
-One night at the inn, then we set sail.
---
Night in Albrook
-Locke gets out of bed and heads outside. He sees Celes.
-Celes isn’t talking to Locke.
-His doubt really hurt her. She runs away, still not talking.
---
Ship
-Time to set sail. I hope we don’t get eaten by Leviathan. The Final Fantasy series has taught me that when setting sail, there’s like a 35% chance of getting eaten by Leviathan.
-Now playing as Terra. We get to walk around the ship at night.
-Terra and Leo talking. He heard that her emotions have returned. Interesting! I always thought her concerns about not having emotions were a general maturity thing, but maybe it has to do with the effects of the slave crown and the Empire’s experiments. Getting in touch with her esper half may helped in a number of ways.
-Terra’s struck by the weirdness of working for the Empire. Leo reiterates that not everyone in the Empire is Kefka. And yet… it sounds like the noble Leo knew full well about the stuff done to her and stood by. A good man standing down.
-WHOA! He acknowledges this like two seconds later!
All that is necessary for the triumph of evil...
I wasn’t expecting them to address this head-on. This is brilliant.
-Terra still worries if she’ll ever connect with someone, be able to love them.
-Leo leaves, and Shadow appears, having overheard this. He mentions that there are people in the world who chose to kill their emotions. Referring to himself I guess? I’m not sure whether he says this as in “it could be worse – you could be like me,” or as in “it’s a good thing – emotions suck, and that’s why I became a Vulcan ninja.”
-Terra leaves.
-Then the music goes from “super dramatic” to “goofy as fuck.” Locke stumbles above board. Seasick.
-SHADOW SEES HIM VOMITING AND JUST LEAVES WITHOUT SAYING A WORD LOLOL
---
Daytime
-Apparently Crescent Isle still holds the secret to magic, whatever that means. Probably why the espers were drawn there.
-We’re splitting up. Group one is Leo and Celes (PLEASE tell me I get to play as Leo), and Locke/Terra/Shadow (not o3p) in group two.
-Landfall.
-Hey, this is the continent with the town of rude jerkfaces, Thamasa!
---
Next time: return to Rude Jerkface Island.
