Short session today. Got back the Earth Crystal from the cave of the
Dark Elf. Part of the joy of this series playthrough is that I get to
see parallels between the games, and this Dark Elf definitely reminds me
of the Dark Elf in FFI.
The cave itself was a pain in the ass. The magnetic thing turned Cecil
into an archer, and one-shot kill mobs in the dungeon like panthers were
a bit rough, but not too bad. The Dark Elf was not nearly as bad as I
remember in his second form. I remember on the SNES that Dark Breath
destroyed me, but was pretty weak here.
Is this a trend?
I really liked Toroia. The whole matriarchal thing was done pretty well and fun.
