Summary: Our party floats in the Void. They relinquish their hold on the crystals, which then reform to once again gift their power to the world. Hiryu is reborn. The Dawn Warriors bid goodbye to the Light Warriors. Krile updates us on the party’s doings one year later. They remember Galuf, and ride into the sunset. Beautiful.
The Void
-We seem now to be speeding through space.
-Scrolling text tells us that the crystals came from the Void. Whenever the Void threatened the earth, those essences would rise up to “weave the light again,” empowering champions.
-We see our party, floating in the Void.
-This is surreal. Each flies around, and when they do, light shoots out from behind them as if propelling them. They seem to be having a bit of fun.
The Void turns out to be kind of peaceful.
-Wait. Why is the Void still here, now that Exdeath is dead?
-All the crystal fragments are being discharged from our party.
-The music here is otherworldly. Perfect for the visuals, the setting, everything. Absolutely perfect.
-Each party member relinquishes their power over the crystals, and fragments return to the earth.

-All the towns return from the Void.
BARTZ: “The world, it’s been reborn!” Woo hoo!
-The Dawn Warriors say goodbye to the Light Warriors.
For now.
-IT’S HIRYU!! Spirit, or reborn? I think he’s actually been reborn.

Catapult
-Cid and Mid get a letter from Krile, updating them on what everyone’s been up to:
-Hiryu dumped them off in Tycoon.
-Krile traveled! We see her playing and dancing with moogles.
-Faris and Lenna rule together. Sister queens. This is so awesome.
-LOLOL and Faris still swaps to her pirate gear sometimes to hang with her old crew.
-No heir in Bal, but Krile’s considering becoming queen.
Keep being awesome, Krile.
-Bartz returned to Lix to spend some time with his parents before traveling again. We see him near their tombs.
-Koko giving birth! CHOCOBOLETS!! TRIPLETS!!!!!!!!!
-This is one year later.
We then get a montage of these four party members.

-Galuf annoyed at the party for almost leaving him in the Ronkan ruins.
-Galuf flying to rescue Bartz, Lenna, and Faris from Exdeath’s castle.
-Galuf saving Krile from Exdeath’s ring of fire.

The game reminding us, as if that scene won’t be burned into my memory for decades.

Back at the Guardian Tree
-KRILE: “See you, grandpa.”
-HAHA!! YES! Bartz, Faris, and Lenna all swoop in to support her. She’s not alone.
-A group of white birds fly over them and drop light flashes. When the flashes hit the ground, they burst into a grove of flowers. They sense a presence: “Something warm.”
-Dammit, FFV. I’m tearing up again. Massive chills.
[Note: I was tearing up when I played this, and I’m even tearing up now as I type it up.]

-The Bokolets and Hiryu all bear our party away.

Next time: Final thoughts on FFV tomorrow, and will start FFVI on Wednesday. I saw that there’s a bonus/challenge dungeon, but I don’t really feel the need to push onto it in this playthrough.
