Summary:
I bash my head against the wall of the Desert of Shifting Sands, until I
finally find Cid and Mid back in Karnak. They get the Fire-Powered Ship
working again. Galuf regains his memory, that HE'S AN ALIEN who sealed
up the big bad 30 years ago with the crystals. The big bad is "Exdeath."

When I was a girl, how the sands of the desert made a seam to hem me in…
-Maybe I need to go back to the fire-powered ship first?
-…Nothing at the ship helped, and found nothing in the town of Karnak. Back to the desert.
-Ok, I’m back. I CAN DO THIS. DESERT. TAKE TWO.

-And of course Cid was here the whole time. He was in the one room I forgot to check, upstairs in the pub.
-Mid storms in, finds Cid moping, and goes slap-happy on him, trying to get his gramps to change his attitude.
NB: do not try this at home to cheer someone up.
Surprisingly, it works!
-We’re off to work on making the ship run without the benefit of the crystal.

-Flashback to… Galuf on a castle overlook. A little girl runs up to him.
Krile: “Grandpa!”
-!!!!! OF COURSE! THAT WAS THE FORM THE SIREN TRIED USING ON GALUF.
-Flashback to Mid’s slaps-of-fury, getting Cid to not give up.
-Flashback to… Krile, whacking away at Grandpa Galuf.
-WHY??? DON’T CLIFFHANG ME LIKE THAT, GAME.
-Galuf: “I’m… not from this world.”
WHAT
-He warped here via meteor from another world. He helped seal the Big Bad To-Be-Named-Later 30 years ago. It was waking up, so he came to stop it.
-Oh. Hm. I guess that the big bad to-be-named-later is getting named now.
LOL He actually uses the term “big bad.” I have to imagine that Exdeath is his stage name, that his mom didn’t call him sweet little baby Exdeath, but no problem with people having stage names. After all, on this site, I’m “Coldrun.”
-Galuf came to our world 30 years ago to seal him up. I wonder if that’s because he traveled to our world, and it was easiest to seal him here, or if he was doing damage on Galuf’s world and it’s like dumping toxic waste off some other country’s coast?
-We get a flashback to the initial sealing party, which includes the werewolf. Is Galuf from a planet with werewolves? SO COOL!

If the crystals shatter, Exdeath walks free.

-Cid and Mid are exhausted and successful. The ship doesn’t need wind or the fire crystal to run anymore. Huzzah! Off to save the last crystal (or, more likely, watch it shatter at the last second), and Cid and Mid head to the library for more research. cya guys.
