FFV – Part 28: A Multitude of Moogles

Summary: MOOOOOOGLES!! We find a moogle in the forest, follow it into a waterway, and we save it from an undead tyrannosaurus rex. Yeah. We then follow it to the forest moon of Endor… ahem, the forest home to the north, and meet up with Krile.
Moogle Forest

-I stopped last session in the forest, and assumed it was a Chocobo Forest. I was wrong. Moogles. The teddy bear thing known as a moogle shows up, yells “Kupo!,” and runs away.

-Pretty goofy music going on here.

-Moogles are “strange little critters that live in the forest,” according to Galuf. They’re timid.

-Lenna wants to help it (help it with what?), so we follow it down into the hole where it fled.

---

Underground Waterway

-Down in this cave, the music chills out.

-We jump in the water, and it sweeps us away on rails, occasionally dumping us on a landmass to find treasure.

-One of the enemies here is an evil-looking octopus thing called “Moogle Eater.” Maybe not the best escape path, Ms. Moogle.

-We come across the moogle facing a skeleton. Hm.

-OH SHIT IT’S AN UNDEAD TYRANNOSAUR

what is this i don’t even

One of these days I’ll remember that the sprite we see while walking around is not the same size as the actual monster.

-It double attacks pretty regularly. WOW! Faris is a Mystic Knight here. She casts “Fira” on her weapon, since I know undead are usually weak to fire, and she fucking WRECKS the tyrannosaur! Does about 4,500 damage.

-Jurassic Park retaliates for about 4,000+ damage to one-shot Lenna, but it doesn’t matter. We revive her and kill the t-rex with our next attack.

-With the skeleton dead, the moogle music returns. Lenna basically turned into Kristen Bell with the sloth.

She is over the moon hanging out with a moogle.

-MOOGLE: “Kupo!” I think this is a Chewbacca thing, where they have an extensive communication system in their own language that only a few people can really understand.

-She runs out of the waterway, around a few deserts on the other side, and to the forest. She beckons us to follow. After checking out the rest of this cave, I join her.

---

Overworld

-We follow the moogle’s path, with a short-cut through the deserts.

---

MOOGLE VILLAGE

-They’re like Ewoks, complete with tree houses!

-There’s treasure in the tree-house from the moogle we saved! This is so cool.

-One of the other tree houses has… a moogle costume. We put it on.

-That’s right: we’re cosplaying as a moogle within Final Fantasy V.

-The house next door has a moogle who sees us in our costume, falls madly in love with our plush winged moogly hotness (and who wouldn’t?), and gives us a a gift of an Elven Mantle.

-I feel kind of bad, like we’re deceiving the moogle here, but not bad enough to not accept the item. Thanks!

-The one we saved is chatty. “Kuku popo!” Everyone else just gives me the ol’ “Kupo!”

-It’s… wait, what? Ok, it climbed up a tree, and then all of a sudden we’re seeing Krile’s castle where a moogle is telling Krile about us in the forest.

-Oh. That makes sense. Like winged-teddy telephone.

-Krile will meet up with us via wind drake. Woot!! Hi again, Krile!

Krile, on a wind drake, flanked by moogles. This is great.

-Huzzah. Galuf and Krile are together again. We all pile into the minivan that is the wind drake and head to Galuf’s and Krile’s home castle.

-See ya, Moogles.

Next time: Galuf’s and Krile’s castle.
